Future You
Last Updated: June 18, 2026
Operated by GS Digital LLC, a Massachusetts Limited Liability Company
Introduction
GS Digital LLC ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Future You mobile application ("App") and related services (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.
Future You is a behavioral micro-savings app that helps you build better habits by automatically moving small amounts of money into a savings vault when you engage in phone behaviors you have chosen to monitor. Your savings are held securely by our licensed banking infrastructure partner, and we never directly hold, touch, or have custody of your funds at any time.
By using Future You, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our Service.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Personal Information
When you create an account or use our Service, we may collect:
- Full legal name
- Email address
- Date of birth (required for identity verification by our banking infrastructure partner)
- Government-issued identification information (collected solely by our banking infrastructure partner for identity verification — we do not store this)
- Home address
- Phone number (optional)
2.2 Financial Information
To enable our core savings functionality:
- Bank account information is collected and processed exclusively through our bank connectivity partner. We do not store your bank credentials.
- Savings account information associated with your Future You vault, held and managed by our banking infrastructure partner.
- Transaction history within the App — amounts saved per trigger, total vault balance, and transfer records.
Important: Future You never holds, stores, or has direct access to your bank funds. All money movement is handled by our banking and connectivity partners. Your savings vault is a financial account held by our banking infrastructure partner, which is FDIC-insured up to $250,000.
2.3 Behavioral Data
To provide our core trigger functionality, we collect:
- Trigger events you configure — for example, phone unlocks and social media app opens — and their occurrence timestamps
- Trigger amounts associated with each event
- Vault balance history and transaction records
- Savings milestones and activity history
- App usage patterns relevant to your configured triggers
Trigger detection is powered by Apple Shortcuts automations that you set up during onboarding. These automations run on your device and send a notification to our servers when a trigger fires. We do not have access to your device's screen content, messages, photos, or any other data beyond the trigger event signals you explicitly configure.
2.4 Technical Data
- Device information including model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers.
- IP address.
- App performance data and crash reports.
- Push notification tokens for delivering trigger and vault notifications.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate and deliver the core Service — processing trigger events, updating vault balances, and coordinating money movement with our banking partners
- Verify your identity through our banking infrastructure partner as required by applicable law
- Send push notifications about trigger events, vault milestones, and account status
- Provide behavioral analytics within the App to help you understand your habits
- Detect and prevent fraud and unauthorized account access
- Improve and develop the App based on usage patterns using aggregated, anonymized data
- Comply with legal and regulatory obligations
- Respond to your support requests and communications
Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data with the following categories of third parties:
4.1 Banking and Financial Partners
We work with licensed banking infrastructure and bank connectivity partners to provide savings account creation, fund custody, identity verification, ACH transfers, and bank account linking. These partners operate under their own privacy policies and applicable banking regulations. Details of our banking partners are disclosed within the App at the time of account setup.
4.2 Payment Processing
Subscription payments are processed through Apple In-App Purchase. Apple's privacy policy governs the handling of your payment information.
4.3 Infrastructure and Analytics
- Supabase — our database and authentication provider, used to store your account data, trigger history, and vault records
- Analytics services — anonymized, aggregated usage data only. No personally identifiable information is shared.
4.4 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by applicable law, regulation, court order, or governmental request, or to protect our rights, property, or the safety of our users.
4.5 Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity, subject to the same privacy protections described in this policy.
Your Vault and Withdrawal Rights
Future You is designed to encourage long-term saving by making early withdrawal intentionally difficult. However, you retain the legal right to access your funds at any time. We do not permanently restrict access to your money.
If you request early withdrawal before your vault's unlock date, a mandatory waiting period will apply before funds are returned to your linked bank account. This waiting period is disclosed to you during onboarding and is part of the behavioral commitment you make when setting up your vault.
Your funds are held by our banking infrastructure partner in FDIC-insured accounts. Future You does not hold your funds and has no ability to permanently restrict access to them beyond the withdrawal friction mechanisms described above.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:
- End-to-end encryption for sensitive data transmission using TLS.
- Encrypted data storage with AES-256 encryption.
- Multi-factor authentication for account access.
- Strict access controls limiting employee access to personal data.
- Regular security reviews.
No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data, subject to our data retention obligations described in Section 8.
- Portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Opt-Out: Unsubscribe from non-essential communications at any time.
- Restriction: Request that we limit how we process your data in certain circumstances.
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell your personal information.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@future-you.net. We will respond to all requests within 30 days.
8. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide the Service. Specifically:
- Account data is retained until you request deletion of your account.
- Financial transaction records, including all vault deposits, transfers, and withdrawal records, are retained for a minimum of 7 years to comply with applicable financial regulations, even after account deletion.
- Trigger event logs are retained for 2 years to support behavioral analytics features.
- After account deletion, we may retain anonymized, aggregated data for analytics purposes indefinitely.
Children's Privacy
Future You is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us immediately at privacy@future-you.net and we will take prompt action to delete that information.
10. Apple Shortcuts and On-Device Processing
Future You uses Apple Shortcuts automations to detect trigger events on your device. When you set up a trigger during onboarding, you create a Shortcut that runs automatically on your iPhone when the specified event occurs — for example, opening Instagram or unlocking your phone.
These Shortcuts run locally on your device and send only a minimal trigger signal to our servers — the trigger type and a timestamp. We do not access your screen content, app data, messages, photos, contacts, or any other information from the apps you are monitoring. The Shortcuts automation is transparent and visible to you in the Apple Shortcuts app at all times. You can disable or delete any automation at any time.
Third-Party Services
Our App integrates with third-party services whose privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Details of our current third-party partners are disclosed within the App. Future You is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services.
12. International Data Transfers
Future You is operated in the United States and is intended for US users only at this time. Your information is processed and stored in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Your continued use of Future You after the effective date of any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. The date of the most recent update is always shown at the top of this document.
